"Mr. Blue Sky"

After another LONG delay, I'm back!

Today's post is inspired by and because of my officemate Gavin, who is having a birthday on Friday. I went onto his Amazon UK wishlist last week to find a CD to order for him. I selected "Out of the Blue" by ELO, from 'way back in 1977.

The CD arrived on Monday (for once, Amazon, you shipped too quickly), and we gave it a listen here in the office this afternoon.

And we noticed something at the end of "Mr. Blue Sky"...the very end of the song. I had always thought that the electronic voice was saying something like "Hey Mr. Blue Sky". But clearly, it's saying, "Please turn me o-ver"! Very clever, Jeff -- on the old vinyl version of "Out of the Blue", it was the last song on the first side of Disc 2!

If I'd read the Wikipedia article for the song earlier (the one I've linked in the preceeding paragraph), I would have already known that. Oh well!

By the way, this isn't the first time I've written by some newly-discovered secret about a song, either. See my post from last year.
